Prayer Changes Everything

Prayer Changes Everything

In all of the gospel accounts of Jesus’ life there was only one written record of the disciples asking Jesus to specifically teach them something. They asked, “Jesus, teach us to pray.” While it is safe to say that Jesus taught them all sorts of truths and principles, it’s notable that this is the only topic that teaching was specifically requested. For many of us, it’s assumed that we would just know how to pray. We do it before meals. We do it before a baseball game or a meeting, but what would it look like if we set our hearts on seeking God through a growing prayer life.

On July 31 we will start our churchwide prayer and fast. On August 20 we will celebrate our final day praying and fasting at our in person worship service at King's chapel on Friday, August 20th at 7PM. Be sure to join us.

"How do I pray? Where do I start?"

If you've asked these questions then we have a great resource for you! Our Prayer Guide is a great tool for a growing prayer life. This resource presents several prayer models that will help guide you in your prayer life.

Daily Prayer Focus

Every day during our 21 Day Prayer and Fasting season we will be focusing on a specific topic or prayer point. You can follow along every day by clicking on the card below.

Fasting

What is fasting?

The goal of fasting is to draw nearer to God. Biblical fasting always has to do with eliminating distractions for a spiritual purpose; it hits the reset button of our soul and renews us from the inside out. It also enables us to celebrate the goodness and mercy of God and prepares our hearts for all the good things God desires to bring into our lives. Remember, your personal fast should present a level of challenge, but it is very important to know your body, your options, and, most importantly, to seek God in prayer and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do.

Fasting requires reasonable precautions. Consult your physician first, especially if you take prescription medication or have a chronic ailment. Some persons should never fast without professional supervision. Click the Card Below for more resources on how to prepare for a successful fast.
