John 4:8 (NIV) 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

ʻO ka mea e aloha ʻole ana, ʻaʻole ia i ʻike aku i ke Akua; no ka mea, he aloha ke Akua.

 

SHARE ALOHA

Akahai: kindness expressed with tenderness

Lōkahi: unity, expressed with harmony

ʻOluʻolu: agreeable,  expressed with pleasantness

Haʻahaʻa: humility, expressed with modesty

Ahonui: patience, expressed with perseverance

  • ‘Olu ‘Olu isn’t found by avoiding a burden, it’s found by caring about the right one.

 

1. I experience 'Olu'olu when I bear the bright burden

Matthew 11:30 (CSB)30 For my yoke is easy (‘OLU ‘OLU) and my burden is light.”

 

2. I experience ’Olu ‘Olu in Relationships

Matthew 11:28 CSB28 “Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Ephesians 5:1–2 (NASB95)1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; 2 and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant (‘OLU ‘OLU) aroma.

Philippians 2:1–2 (NASB95) 1 Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation (‘OLU ‘OLU) of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, 2 make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.

 

Jesus was burdened about being connected to His Dad

John 17:5 CSB5 Now, Father, glorify me in your presence with that glory I had with you before the world existed.

 

Jesus was burdened for us to be connected with Him & with each other

John 17:21 CSB21 May they all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us, so that the world may believe you sent me.

 

Jesus was burdened for obeying His Father

Luke 12:50 CSB50 But I have a baptism to undergo, and how it consumes me until it is finished!

 

Jesus was burdened for SERVANT LEADERSHIP

John 13:14–15 CSB14 So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done for you.

James 1:19 CSB19 My dear brothers and sisters, understand this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger,

Take 2 Minutes of Quiet before your start your devotions and listen

Take 2 Minutes of Quiet after you end your devotions and just listen

 

• With people…Especially in a conflict moment…
