New Hope Hawaii Kai is a Foursquare church in Hawaii Kai, East Honolulu. For 25 years we've helped people know God, get connected, grow deep, and find purpose. About 300 of us meet Sundays at 9 AM in the Kaiser High School cafeteria.

As followers of Jesus, we are called to live an abundant life. We believe that every single person has a purpose and can walk in freedom and confidence in Christ. We are passionate about being a people who have a strong relationship with God that impacts the lives of those around us.
Dead religion doesn't change anyone. The living Jesus does. New to faith, new to Hawaii Kai, or looking for a fresh start: there's a seat for you on Sunday.

That's the vision. We help people get there in four ways, and it's a path anyone can start this Sunday.

Know God
It starts with Jesus.
Everything here begins with a real relationship with God through Jesus. Not religion, not a list of rules. Every Sunday we worship together and open the Bible, and the message comes straight from Scripture so you can see who God is for yourself. You don't need to have it figured out to start.

Get connected
Nobody grows alone.
Faith grows best in relationship. You can't be family with 300 people at once, so we help you find your handful: a Life Group during the week, a men's or women's study, a Thursday youth night for your teens. Growth Track is the easiest way to learn who we are and where you fit.

Grow deep
Roots, not just Sundays.
We want a faith that holds when life gets hard, and that takes roots: time in Scripture, honest friends who pray for you, and healing that goes further than a Sunday morning can. Life Change, our 12-week seminar, and our Bible studies are built for exactly that.

Find purpose
You were made for something.
God gave every one of us gifts, and they were meant to be used for other people. When you serve on a team, give generously, or join what God is doing in Hawaii Kai and beyond, you find out what you were made for. One of the best ways to grow in your faith is to serve.

Statement of Faith
The following are the core beliefs of New Hope Hawaii Kai based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teachings and ministries are rooted in and flow out of these Biblical doctrines.
About the Bible
The Bible is the authoritative Word of God. It was written by human authors under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. It bears witness to Jesus Christ, the living word.
About God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. Unlimited in time, space, knowledge, and power, the Father has planned, for His glory, all that comes to pass and purposed from eternity to redeem a people for Himself. In His sovereignty, He is neither author nor approver of sin.
About Jesus
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. On earth, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man. He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for mankind, and atoned for our sins through the shedding of His blood. He rose from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return again in power and glory.
About the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit empowers believers, and His incoming follows the same pattern that is described in the New Testament. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when they are saved. Christians should seek to live under His control daily.
About Mankind
Men and women were created in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. They are the supreme object of God’s creation and not from any previously existing form of life. Although every person has potential for good, all are marred by disobedience toward God called “sin”. This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life.
About Salvation
Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin’s penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.
About the Church
The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
About the Resurrection
Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth.
About Eternity
Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with him is eternal life. Heaven and hell are places of eternal existence.
About Marriage
Marriage and sexual intimacy are wonderful gifts from God to be stewarded for his glory. God’s design for marriage is to be between one man and one woman for life. Biblical marriage requires that both people have biological differences from birth as male and female. Any sexual relationship or activity outside of biblical, covenanted marriage is sinful and is not blessed by God. While marriage is a gift from God, we also believe that singleness can be a gift from God and can be God’s call on a person’s life.
