Is Your Life Clean but Empty?
This Sunday we talked about the danger of having a clean but empty spiritual life. Using Jesus' confrontation with the Pharisees in Matthew 12, he warns against the trap of religious performance without genuine relationship with Christ. The message explores how familiarity with faith can be more dangerous than doubt, leading to spiritual emptiness despite outward righteousness. Through the parable of the unoccupied house, Jesus illustrates that simply cleaning up our lives without inviting Him to fill every space leaves us vulnerable to being worse off than before. Jesus didn't come just to clean us up, but to move in and occupy every part of our hearts and lives. The sermon challenges believers to move beyond mere moral improvement and religious activity to authentic relationship with Jesus. Rather than spending energy rearranging the 'furniture' of our lives, we need to invite Jesus to fill the spaces we haven't surrendered to Him. True transformation comes not from trying harder to be good, but from being filled with His presence and allowing Him to work through our messes.
Opening Prayer
Heavenly Father, we come before You this morning with grateful hearts, thankful for the opportunity to gather together as Your family. We ask that You would open our hearts and minds to receive what You want to speak to us today. Help us to set aside our distractions, our preconceived notions, and our familiar ways of thinking. Holy Spirit, we invite You to move among us and show us areas where we may have become too comfortable or where we've been trying to clean up our lives in our own strength. Give us fresh eyes to see Jesus and hungry hearts to be filled with more of Him. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

Life Application
This week, identify one area of your life where you've been trying to 'clean up' or improve through your own effort. Instead of focusing on what you need to stop doing or fix, spend time each day inviting Jesus to fill that space. Ask Him specifically to occupy that area of your heart, relationship, or habit, and surrender it to His lordship rather than your own management.

Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for this reminder that You desire to be more than just a part of our lives - You want to fill every space and make Your home in us. We confess the areas where we've been trying to manage our own spiritual growth instead of surrendering to Your presence. Help us to stop rearranging the furniture of our lives and instead invite You into every room of our hearts. Fill the spaces that have been empty, occupy the areas we've kept to ourselves, and transform us from the inside out. We don't want just clean lives; we want lives that are full of You. Thank You that Your burden is light and that You carry us through every mess and struggle. In Your precious name we pray, Amen.
