Jesus Words About Revenge

Scripture: Matthew 5:38-42

Jesus challenges the natural instinct for revenge, calling us to a life of grace and forgiveness. While the world says "an eye for an eye," Jesus teaches that retaliation only perpetuates harm and division. The true cost of getting even is the loss of peace, relationships, and spiritual growth. Instead, Jesus calls us to turn the other cheek, go the extra mile, and show radical kindness. By resisting the urge to retaliate, we reflect God's love and find freedom from the destructive cycle of vengeance, embracing a life of grace.

"Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing." 1 Peter 3:9
