Friend of The Bridegroom

Isaiah 40:3

“The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
‘Prepare the way of the Lord; make his paths straight.’”

Luke 1:16-17 says,

16 And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God, 17 and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared.”

Matthew 3:4-6 says,

Now John wore a garment of camel's hair and a leather belt around his waist, and his food was locusts and wild honey. Then Jerusalem and all Judea and all the region about the Jordan were going out to him, and they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.

John 3:28-30,

28 You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, ‘I am not the Christ, but I have been sent before him.’ 29 The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete. 30 He must increase, but I must decrease.”

John 15:14-15 says,

14 You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.

14 You are my friends if you do what I command you.

This is what Psalm 25:14 says,

14 The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant.

John the Baptist says in John 3:29,

The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him

Then Jesus says in John 15:15,

but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.

Then David in Psalm 25:14 says,

14 The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant.

Song of Solomon 8:6-7 says,

Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm, for love is strong as death, jealousy is fierce as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, the very flame of the Lord. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man offered for love all the wealth of his house, he would be utterly despised.

Revelation 19:7 says,

Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come,   and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure”

Matthew 11:11-12 Jesus describes John the Baptist and his ministry,

11 Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he. 12 From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force.

1 Corinthians 2:9 says,

But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”
